** S'pore -> Beijing -> Harbin 24.12.2006 **

after xmas bash, i cabbed home. i reached home at 7.28pm. 2 minutes earlier than my 730pm curfew that day. keke. the cab driver loved the song Right Here Waiting. so i talked to him la. he revealed that the song brought back memories of him and his late-wife dating many years ago. he lost his wife to some illness. i'm guessing that it is cancer. but i didn't ask. it is just not appropriate. i admire the cab driver for his undying love towards his wife. how i hope to be at the receiving end of such love...

went home, ate dinner, bathed, watched a little of 花无缺与小鱼儿 and we cabbed to the airport.

i think we are good. my fam managed to squeeze in TWELVE baggages into the cab. that number includes our handbags.

my sis and i. my eyes are horribly small when i wear specs. sigh...

i took china airlines. or is it china airways. whatever. zhiwei warned me that the air stewards and stewardesses will be old and ugly. i thought that it was just zhiwei being biased against them. when i was on the plane, whatever zhiwei said came true. 真是好事不灵坏事灵. haha. the air stewardesses are mostly ugly and old. bleah. a FAR cry from singapore airlines' air stewardesses. it was also VERY dry on the plane. the ends of my hair are... sadly dry. so ugly. my nice hair became not nice anymore. sobx. i slept throughout my flight from singapore to beijing apart from the time when supper was served. supper ain't supper. it was black pepper chicken rice. who in the world would eat that for supper? it was SALTY. and there was no in-flight entertainment on board. zhiwei asked me to watch some cartoon movie and a movie called "crash". when i read that message, i thought he said that he watched the cartoon movie and his plane crashed. haha. blur me. the whole plane was filled with china people. i call then china people instead of chinese cos i am a chinese too... i do not want to be associated with them. the china people snore, talk so loudly, argue with the flight stewardess, look so kian peng, make the toilet so dirty. oh gosh. bad experience on board china airlines. or is it china airways. whatever.

i touched down at beijing around 6something am. the local tour guide came to pick us up. my tour group has a total of 8 people. my fam and a young couple (they are on their honeymoon after being married for 2 years) and an old couple (they are on their honeymoon too. their kids have all grown up. 28. 27.25. the auntie was from thailand but was married into singapore. she brought along chilli padi from singapore. haha. so cute). the local tour guide brought us to Summer Palace.

right: my sis and i at the Summer Palace duing dec 2006. winter.

i don't like the local tour guide. he didn't explain things to us la. he just brought us to walk around the place. great! i do NOT need a tour guide to walk me around the place. lousy. he didn't even bring us into some houses to see the exhibitions. what is this man?! his surname is 杨. we can call him 小杨 (sounds like 小羊). i think he should be called 小蛇 instead la. keep eating snake on the job.

nice photo right? the sunrise. the lake was totally frozen.

after that, we went to have our lunch at 10something am. co0l, right? cos we have a flight to catch to hairpin. the internal flight was horrible. the plane was SMALL. and there were so many china people on board. they were scolding the air stewardess too. so rude la. the air stewardess was RIGHT in asking them to sit while the plane was taxi-ing to the gate. not only did they ignore her advice, they shouted at her. this shows how rude and kia su they are. and i thought singaporeans are kia su enough... china people. the poor air stewardess looked as though she was about to cry.

spot the spelling mistake... the sentence structure's wrong too...
i arrived at harbin (hairpin, according to yeewen) and went to St. Sophia's Church. it was Xmas eve so the place was brightly lit. the atmosphere wasn't as thick as it was in singapore (think orchard road) but the church was beautifully decorated. the architecture has a strong Russian flavour because it was built by a Russian. did i mention that harbin has quite a bit of russian influence?

my dad commented that my sis looked a nun. ah haha. i TOTALLY agree. shh.... james, don't tell her arh... wahaha...

do i look jap? my dad and mum said so... oh well. so i have the retro and jap face. haha. and some people even mistook me for a korean, taiwanese, china people (YUCK!!!). i didn't know that i am so international. haha. ahnyeong! moshi moshi! ni hao!

had dinner after that and went to the hotel to sleep.

the day over at harbin's really really short. by 4.30pm, the sky would already be pitch black. something like singapore's 8pm. the last photo posted in this post was taken at 4.02pm. haha
