** Harbin -> Changchun 26.12.2006 **
we reached chang chun just in time for lunch. the lunching place was so 复古. the newspapers in the background are antique. they are REAL newspapers from the 1950s.
my sis and i. i saw falling snow for the first time in my entire life. it wasn't very big. just little specks. that's the living place of china's last emperor, pu yi.
the jap architects are smart. the surrounding four walls form the word 口. and with the tree (木) in the middle, it forms the word 困. it signifies that pu yi is trapped in his house. pu yi's a really lousy emperor. he knew how to tie his shoelaces at the age of 40!! and he practically gave china into the hands of the japanese. LOUSY. see the snowflakes? =)
my shoeprints.
we went to some film studio. it was SUPER boring. the 讲解员 was super irritating. she was rushing through whatever she was saying. i couldn't even catch one full sentence. i IMMEDIATELY turned off after 30seconds. like a timer. bleah. lousy. after the tour, she just turned off the lights leaving us in the dark. gosh. never even say thank you or anything. lousy. i feel like making her lose her rice bowl. i mean, this isn't how you should treat your customers. attitude problem. i feel like i'm not welcomed and she just wanted to complete her job asap and drive us away. it's like 赶羊.
we went to eat dinner and went back to hotel after that. the food was SALTY. VERY salty. my sister claimed that she could see salt crystals in the meat. we told the local tour guide to ask the chef to add less salt but it was still so salty. oh man. they eat such large amounts of salt so as to keep their body functioning during the winter. they also eat VERY large portions of food. there was so much wastage everytime we had a meal. and they don't use spoons too cos they drink directly from their soup bowls. haha. a spoon is not called a 汤匙 there but a 汤勺.
did i mention that the different tour guides at the different places brought us to many tourist shops to buy stuff so as to earn commission? sigh... but the tour guides in 东北 (includes 黑龙江, 辽宁,吉林 provinces) are MUCH better than that idiotic animal from 北京. they are friendlier and not so aggressive. they made me feel at home.
