oh yes~!!! here i am to blog again after a super hectic week. well, i OT almost everyday the past week. the only day i didn't OT was Saturday cos i told my favourite pharmacist that i had to leave on the dot as i had a wedding to attend. if i didn't tell my pharmacist in advance, i am 1000% sure that i would have to work OT on Saturday as well. crap. and then, there was the woodlands polyclinic pre-renovation party on Friday night, rushing to church after work on Saturday then rushing to attend the wedding dinner. oh man.. i'm still a little tired now.

ok. just let me add to the list of weird patients ok? some patients are really horrible la. i need to blog these down... bear with me, ok?

there is this cute 60plus-70 year old uncle who came up to me and requested that he get a faster number. i asked him why and he told me this, "zhe ge shi wo de tai tai (this (patient) is my wife). ta yao hui jia kan dian shi (she wants to go home to watch TV)." so cute right? i didn't give a faster number.

Thursday was a super hectic day cos 4 seniors were gone from the clinic. my favourite pharmacist was away on course. the overall pharmacist in charge was on MC. so was the pharmacy executive. and a senior pharmacy staff was on leave. and so, with 4 people gone, only 1 pharmacist was left to run the helm. the rest of us juniors were slogging like crazy. lunch break was quite scary as almost everyone da bao-ed in to eat. our lunch breaks were each less than an hour. the waiting time for some patients during the lunch time was close to 2 hours. can you believe it?!?! as usual, i got scolded loads of times by these irritated patients. but i can understand how they feel la. imagine waiting 2hours for your medicine ONLY. sigh....

and yes, my tao hua yun is back. i got pao-ed by two boys. 1 was 19 the other was 17. i was so shocked. they came up to me and asked for my age. then they asked for my number. i declined. then they went to walk one round around the pharmacy and came back to ask for my number again. i declined for the second time. after collecting their medicine and making their payment, they came back and asked me for my number again~!!! of cos, i declined yet again. they insisted, saying that it's a normal way to make friends. i declined lor. then they walked off.

after working at the clinic for a month, i realised that many middle-age malay women who came to the clinic are called Hajjah. i think it is a common name for them during that era when they were born. now, this era, the trend has moved on to Qistina. and i also noticed that many chinese women in their 60s are called Ah Moi / Ah Moy / Ah Muay and many chinese men ranging from in their 50s to 70s are called Ah Kau / Ah Kaw / Ah Kao. i served at least 10 Hajjahs, Ah Mois and Ah Kaus each. cool eh?

this teenage girl came to me. and when i asked for her name, i got a shock. can you guess what it is? give you guys a clue. it is the name of a famous painting by Leonardo Da Vinci in the Louvre Museum in Paris, France. knock yourself on the head if you don't get it. YES, THAT was her name. shocking?

i also came to realise that i have this zhi ye bing. i will tend to do simple maths while at work. i will mentally work out the age of my patients by looking at their birthdate. haha. some look much younger than their real age, some look much older while some look just as they are. ok. fei hua...

can you recall that in my previous entry, i blogged about this super talkative woman who talked to almost everyone she meets at the pharmacy? well, i saw her again~!!! i really let out a huge gasp when i saw her. but thank goodness, she left a while later. she did not collect any medicine. thank goodness.

and then there is this Mdm Patient No. 1. she dropped her appointment card on the floor. Mr. Nice Patient picked the card up and handed it to me. i called Patient No. 1's name. no one came to me. again, i called out. this time, i added a "Mr" in front, not knowing that this Mdm Patient No. 1 was a female. i called out "Mr. S0-and-so" for about 5 times before this Mdm Patient No. 1 walked up to me. the first thing that came out of her mouth was "MADAM. IT'S A MEHHHH-DUMM. MDM SO-AND-SO." i apologised and she continued to scold me all because i addressed her as a mister. sigh. like that also can get scolded. i was being nice you know? i was just helping her to be reunited with her appointment card. and all i got were scoldings. no word of thanks. i apologised. and it was really accidental. why must she get so worked up? menopause arh? i felt so yuan wang and went back behind the pharmacy to complain to the rest of my colleagues who were very sympathetic. sighhhhh....

cell had prayer meeting on wednesday. it was quite cool cos i arrived early. ok. that wasn't the cool part. haha. i thought of going to NTUC fairprice finest alone to walk walk look look to kill time. just as when i was about to walk in, i saw andros~!!!! both of us were so shocked. then, i started to laugh, and andros starting laughing too. haha. it was so qiao la~!!! so coincidental. so andros and i went to walk walk around fairprice finest and bought tidbits. i bought the Portuguese egg tart to snack on. sylvester arrived at andros' house and we were talking then he mentioned that he ate 2 Portuguese egg tarts from fairprice finest. so cool right? i met andros. then sylvester and i ate the same thing. haha. you mo qi =D

wednesday was also Mdm Quek's retirement party and i cannot attend. peijun and wilson were not able to attend either. we were all sian diao. sigh....

i love my job, actually. but it can get really stressful cos i must really be on my toes (literally and metaphorically) for 7.5 hours. cannot really slack. i can only sneak internet smses to starhub users at times when there are patients flow. the people whom i spam at work are: peijun, luwei, huiyi and tim chan. haha. so, thank you guys for tolerating me. keke. especially luwei, cos i woke him up from his beautiful slumber twice. lolx. i think i can add my baobei to the list... i shall spam her tomorrow when i am free. wahaha....

i tell you, the medicines disappear really quickly. one bin of common ailment medicine (e.g. panadol, anarex, chloramine) can disappear within three days.

the pre-renovation party was quite dumb la. we got to makan food. it was a nice spread. but i didn't really eat much cos i wasn't too hungry. then we had some mini disco thing. Dr. Tung's kids are soooo cute. they are super good dancers, just like their dad. my colleague, tini, and i danced like crazy during the end. we both were the same - want to dance but paiseh. haha. tired tired tired after the party....
