** mission trip'07 - Day 2 (28.11.2oo7) **

DAY 2 (28.11.2007)

After a grueling 9.5hours in the coach, we finally arrived at nong khai in the wee hours. And mind you, it was cold. Very cold. We were all shivering on board the coach. Even with our jackets and blankets provided on the coach, we were still shivering. My teeth were chattering non-stop. Crap. It did not seem like Thailand at all. It was much colder outside the coach. I kept jumping to keep myself warm.

Cherie was my roomie. Once we got into our rooms, cherie went to bathe. As it was really really REALLY cold, I did not bathe but when to unpack my stuff and change into my sleep wear.

After only 3 hours of rest, I woke up and went to practice praise and worship with ah hau in luwei’s room. I was tired. Everyone was tired. Thank goodness I slept early the night before.

Breakfast was some MSG laden Maggie mee and milo that costs 60baht per person. The Aussies (Jason and Jonathan) in my team were so funny. When they saw MSG, they kept cheering. I realized later it was because MSG was banned down under. So the Aussies were “deprived” of MSG. it was so hilarious to see them cheering when they saw MSG.

Lyn’s and our team went to this school. There was only one salvation for our team. We were all very disappointed, yet we did not take no for an answer. We continued to pray and pressed on. We went back to the same school after lunch and continued. There were many many distractions. Dogs barking, construction work, the school bell, students coming and leaving…. It was CRAZY. Seriously, we were quite sad. but we were all energizers (NEVER SAY DIE~!!!). we chose to press on until we saw something from God. i learnt that whenever we don't see results, there will always be two choices - either we give up and wallow in self-pity, or continue to persevere on. the choice is yours.
Ian and I teaching English. it was a failed attempt. but we learnt from our mistakes =)
my girl, Pom, and I. she was very attached to me.

The guys drank all the soup during lunch, leaving the rest of the ingredients behind.

Next, we went to a boys’ home. Nope, it’s not for those delinquents. It is actually an orphanage for boys. I got to know this cute boy. He kept asking me questions in thai. I kept telling him I only know lit noi (little) thai but he still kept asking me stuff and kept talking to me. the language barrier can get frustrating at times. I really wanted to know what the boy was saying. sigh. There were many salvations in the home. All glory to God. The greatest miracle is salvation =D

My boy's the one in white =)

my team acting the skit, You’re Special.

Hau ACT CUTE!!!!!

one more photo added to my autobiography (xie zhen) =P

I changed hotel room and went to sleep with zixin and esther because sis wp wanted to shift the rest of the nong khai team into the hotel that i was staying in (we were divided into 2 different hotels). According to ann, the other hotel was LOUSY. The mattress was so thin, the blanket was thinner than a jacket, there was no water heater, the balcony had no lock (anyone could have entered the room at night), three people had to squeeze into a super single bed (so romantic). And so I had to be separated from dear cherie. Sobx.

them, waiting at the hotel lobby before hau announced that there will be a shuffling of roomings.
i was in winnie and lyn's room counting money.
xiang xiang's my banana, in pyjamas... =P

My first night as a treasurer was ok. The amount tallied. And I made a new friend, Winnie from fervour. Haha. Both of us were first time treasurers and I had to settle some money stuff with her. So, yea…
