** the crazy week **
oh yes~!!! here i am to blog again after a super hectic week. well, i OT almost everyday the past week. the only day i didn't OT was Saturday cos i told my favourite pharmacist that i had to leave on the dot as i had a wedding to attend. if i didn't tell my pharmacist in advance, i am 1000% sure that i would have to work OT on Saturday as well. crap. and then, there was the woodlands polyclinic pre-renovation party on Friday night, rushing to church after work on Saturday then rushing to attend the wedding dinner. oh man.. i'm still a little tired now.
ok. just let me add to the list of weird patients ok? some patients are really horrible la. i need to blog these down... bear with me, ok?
there is this cute 60plus-70 year old uncle who came up to me and requested that he get a faster number. i asked him why and he told me this, "zhe ge shi wo de tai tai (this (patient) is my wife). ta yao hui jia kan dian shi (she wants to go home to watch TV)." so cute right? i didn't give a faster number.
Thursday was a super hectic day cos 4 seniors were gone from the clinic. my favourite pharmacist was away on course. the overall pharmacist in charge was on MC. so was the pharmacy executive. and a senior pharmacy staff was on leave. and so, with 4 people gone, only 1 pharmacist was left to run the helm. the rest of us juniors were slogging like crazy. lunch break was quite scary as almost everyone da bao-ed in to eat. our lunch breaks were each less than an hour. the waiting time for some patients during the lunch time was close to 2 hours. can you believe it?!?! as usual, i got scolded loads of times by these irritated patients. but i can understand how they feel la. imagine waiting 2hours for your medicine ONLY. sigh....
and yes, my tao hua yun is back. i got pao-ed by two boys. 1 was 19 the other was 17. i was so shocked. they came up to me and asked for my age. then they asked for my number. i declined. then they went to walk one round around the pharmacy and came back to ask for my number again. i declined for the second time. after collecting their medicine and making their payment, they came back and asked me for my number again~!!! of cos, i declined yet again. they insisted, saying that it's a normal way to make friends. i declined lor. then they walked off.
after working at the clinic for a month, i realised that many middle-age malay women who came to the clinic are called Hajjah. i think it is a common name for them during that era when they were born. now, this era, the trend has moved on to Qistina. and i also noticed that many chinese women in their 60s are called Ah Moi / Ah Moy / Ah Muay and many chinese men ranging from in their 50s to 70s are called Ah Kau / Ah Kaw / Ah Kao. i served at least 10 Hajjahs, Ah Mois and Ah Kaus each. cool eh?
this teenage girl came to me. and when i asked for her name, i got a shock. can you guess what it is? give you guys a clue. it is the name of a famous painting by Leonardo Da Vinci in the Louvre Museum in Paris, France. knock yourself on the head if you don't get it. YES, THAT was her name. shocking?
i also came to realise that i have this zhi ye bing. i will tend to do simple maths while at work. i will mentally work out the age of my patients by looking at their birthdate. haha. some look much younger than their real age, some look much older while some look just as they are. ok. fei hua...
can you recall that in my previous entry, i blogged about this super talkative woman who talked to almost everyone she meets at the pharmacy? well, i saw her again~!!! i really let out a huge gasp when i saw her. but thank goodness, she left a while later. she did not collect any medicine. thank goodness.
and then there is this Mdm Patient No. 1. she dropped her appointment card on the floor. Mr. Nice Patient picked the card up and handed it to me. i called Patient No. 1's name. no one came to me. again, i called out. this time, i added a "Mr" in front, not knowing that this Mdm Patient No. 1 was a female. i called out "Mr. S0-and-so" for about 5 times before this Mdm Patient No. 1 walked up to me. the first thing that came out of her mouth was "MADAM. IT'S A MEHHHH-DUMM. MDM SO-AND-SO." i apologised and she continued to scold me all because i addressed her as a mister. sigh. like that also can get scolded. i was being nice you know? i was just helping her to be reunited with her appointment card. and all i got were scoldings. no word of thanks. i apologised. and it was really accidental. why must she get so worked up? menopause arh? i felt so yuan wang and went back behind the pharmacy to complain to the rest of my colleagues who were very sympathetic. sighhhhh....
cell had prayer meeting on wednesday. it was quite cool cos i arrived early. ok. that wasn't the cool part. haha. i thought of going to NTUC fairprice finest alone to walk walk look look to kill time. just as when i was about to walk in, i saw andros~!!!! both of us were so shocked. then, i started to laugh, and andros starting laughing too. haha. it was so qiao la~!!! so coincidental. so andros and i went to walk walk around fairprice finest and bought tidbits. i bought the Portuguese egg tart to snack on. sylvester arrived at andros' house and we were talking then he mentioned that he ate 2 Portuguese egg tarts from fairprice finest. so cool right? i met andros. then sylvester and i ate the same thing. haha. you mo qi =D
wednesday was also Mdm Quek's retirement party and i cannot attend. peijun and wilson were not able to attend either. we were all sian diao. sigh....
i love my job, actually. but it can get really stressful cos i must really be on my toes (literally and metaphorically) for 7.5 hours. cannot really slack. i can only sneak internet smses to starhub users at times when there are patients flow. the people whom i spam at work are: peijun, luwei, huiyi and tim chan. haha. so, thank you guys for tolerating me. keke. especially luwei, cos i woke him up from his beautiful slumber twice. lolx. i think i can add my baobei to the list... i shall spam her tomorrow when i am free. wahaha....

i tell you, the medicines disappear really quickly. one bin of common ailment medicine (e.g. panadol, anarex, chloramine) can disappear within three days.

the pre-renovation party was quite dumb la. we got to makan food. it was a nice spread. but i didn't really eat much cos i wasn't too hungry. then we had some mini disco thing. Dr. Tung's kids are soooo cute. they are super good dancers, just like their dad. my colleague, tini, and i danced like crazy during the end. we both were the same - want to dance but paiseh. haha. tired tired tired after the party....

church was cool cos bryan's mum brought donuts for us all~!!!!! WAHAHA~!!!! but that wasn't the only reason why it was cool. i passed sean low my harddrive, hoping that he will be able to solve my computer-crisis at home. jaslyn, peijun, huiyi and the guys in cell were shocked that i wore such high heels. wahaha.... huiyi was like, i can't walk in THAT~!!!!! lolx. shuen told me that i looked like a real woman. i was like... what?!?!?! you mean normally i don't look like a real woman?! sigh... then sylvester told shuen and i some things until the both of us wanted to cry. sigh... after one year six months plus... it ended. i didn't cry. but i really wanted to. sigh........ i understand. but... sigh.... and yet again, daryl asked me to scram in a nice way. he told me to "go for your wedding dinner~!!!!" cos i was laming him too much. sigh... peijun, if you are reading this, i want to complain~!!! how can i grow in such an environment where the assistant leader chases me away almost every saturday? it's not conducive for me at all... bleah....

I took a cab to hotel rendezvous where the wedding dinner was held. the cab driver was quite hilarious. he told loads of dumb jokes and played jay chou music and CHUANG WAI for me to hear. lolx. at the end of the journey, he offered to give me his telephone number. i declined. sigh.... fungi~!!! really la. my tao hua yun is back~!!! remember a few months ago you said it was so?!? now it is back... bleah.... lolx.
the wedding dinner was ok la. got to meet certain relatives whom i have NEVER EVER met in my entire life. like this auntie who doesn't want us to call her auntie cos it sounds super old. she is 38. it was nice talking to her. i could not recognise some of my cousins le. they changed a lot. they could not recognise me either. even my uncle commented that if he were to meet me on the roads, he would not recognise me le. so sad. haha. but he commented that i jian fei cheng gong~!!! WAHAHA~!!!! my cousin's wife's jie mei overdid things a little. overly enthu until it got a little irritating. they screamed into the MIC. my whole table covered our ears and gave that face. oh well. but i wish junxiang-gor and coleen biao sao bai tou dao lao, yong jie tong xin. for my wedding, it'll be jing cha on both sides, church wedding, then dinner.

actually my com didn't crash la, according to the very busy dennis. guess it is some viral thing or software problem. ARGH~!!!! this is irritating. firstly it was my internet connection. now it is my com. bleah.... to wilson, yalor... this time it is the com, not the internet. i also dunno why this year so mafan lor. bleah...
yesterday seemed to zoom past faster than normal saturdays. i don't know why. haha. daryl, tim sim and henson were the guitarists and the praise and worship leader respectively. they were all wearing black. so i named them the Men in Black. haha. they were the only ones wearing black in cell yesterday. keke. so funny. and daryl mentioned that he would rather "kill me this type of person". i am so sad la~!!! sigh. my assistant leader lehx. and that was what he said to me. bleah.
i almost lost my cool at a few patients this week at work....
there is this idiotic patient number 1. this WOMAN is such a-relative-of-the-canine-species. everytime she comes, she will scold someone from the pharmacy. and this time, it was me. i was issuing Q numbers as usual. then, this woman came and insisted that she get a faster number. i asked her politely why she wanted so. if she said she was feeling unwell or something of that sort, i would have given her a faster Q number. but she snapped that she is a regular patient of the clinic. i am like... what!??! almost everyone is a regular what. then i explained to her that she has to wait in line. then she insisted that i still give her a faster Q number cos she has an appointment card. like almost all the uncles and aunties have an appointment card what. so everyone has to have a faster Q number? then the faster Q would have become the slower Q already lor... i continued to explain to her but she scolded me and gave me the black face. she was wearing a pair of sunglasses... like the pharmacy is very bright. she has tattoos and her hair was gold. she is an indian. she was wearing this very low cut spaghetti striped shirt as is she wants to flirt with the doctor. i was quite scared that she would call her gang to bash me up. so i went behind and told my colleagues to process her order faster. upon seeing her name, my colleagues gasped loudly and exclaimed, "It's HER~!!!!" apparently, she is notorious. everytime she comes, she will get a faster Q number cos she will scold everyone she sees in the pharmacy. man!!! so i'm like not the only one. haha. this provided some sort of comfort. oh crap. nonsensical reason.. crazy patient number 1.
then there is patient number 2. she came to me to get a Q number and wanted to chat more with me. but as i was busy, i didn't have time to entertain her. then she requested to see the pharmacist. she had her daughter in tow. she talked to my pharmacist for about 20minutes. can you believe it?!?! TWENTY minutes. my pharmacist wrote on a piece of paper and shoved it to me. it was written "very funny one". i listened to their conversation and it was indeed so funny~!!! she was talking about excretion of all sorts la. big, small, airy.... then she talked about her intestines and everything. my pharmacist was quite pek cek already cos she still has her work to do la. reports to write and all... then this patient number 2 went to talk at GREAT length to the dispenser, arguing everything about the medicine given - from the dosage, to the frequency, down right to the colour of the medicine. oh man. another 15 minutes spent there. crap. then, we thought that peace would prevail. we were wrong. Mdm patient number 2 came back to the dispensing counter and started to talk to our Pharmacy Executive, asking him about diabetes and all that. then, she went on to talk about her daughter about her getting all band 3 and not doing well in school. she wants her to "get all Band 1 and become a minister", then "everyone in Singapore will become ministers". and she was so happy and started laughing. she spent another 20 minutes with the Pharmacy Executive. by that time, the Pharmacy was near to closing and there were not many patients left. the few who were left were listening intently to the conversation and were smiling to themselves. i was also listening and burst out laughing at some points of times. i know i was being rude... but, i couldn't help it. when she was done, she walked towards the door together with her daughter. phew.... we heaved a sigh of relief, only to find out that she was on to Part 4~!!!!! she went on to talk to the retail assistant~!!!! oh man~!!! *faints*
Mr Patient number 3 came to my counter and complained (and shouted and cursed), "i didn't know must get a Q number. i was sitting over there for 2 hours~!!! $%*$&%$#*%&$*%&" okaaaaay... i mean, get a life. be rational here. won't you find it weird if you were sitting there for TWO whole hours seeing people who came behind you getting their medicine first?? won't you find it weird that people were holding their Q numbers and you aren't holding one? won't you find it weird that everyone who comes in will come to my counter first before taking a seat? oh Mr Patient Number 3, you might have just fallen asleep in the Pharmacy for 2 hours.
i hate it when patients stuff their service chit into my face. it's dirty, it's germy, it's disgusting, it's rude. it's high time some Singaporeans remember to bring their manners out from their homes.
my mailbox is bursting~!!! 44 messages in 10days? wow~!!!
and im on a cherry blossom streak these 10 days. got pao-ed by a stand-in policeman from the clinic, friendster got a few people telling me i'm such-and-such and want to know me better. one even asked if i was horny. like what?!?! i'm kind, cute, pure, sweet, innocent and pretty can?

** i want to make a complain... **
oh yea baby~!!! im online again~!!! haha. my main purpose of this post is to complain. so please bear with me. i wanna complain about work. haha. suddenly my typing speed increased a lot. think i am deprived of blogging ba. then my fingers suddenly become so active. wahaha~!!! lame.
yesterday, i was so pissed. haha. there is this Patient 1. firstly, she wanted to take some medications only and not the rest (this is called partial collection). so after clarifying with her all the details, i gave her her Q number. then, as she was about to leave the Q counter, she turned and told me that she wanted to collect all her medication. ok. so i cancelled whatever i wrote before and passed her Service Chit to the pickers to key in and pick her medication. then, 10 minutes later, she came back and told me that she wanted some medication and not the rest again. WALAO~!!! what is this? the medicine was already packed for her la~!!! so i had to run to the back to tell the pickers that she wanted only some medicines now. everyone sigh-ed and "su-sah"-ed. i want to say to Patient 1, please make up your mind, ok? as if we are very free to redo our work...
And then, there is this Patient 2. he came in during lunch time. as it is stated, it is LUNCH TIME. we workers have to take our break and rest, ok? Patient 2 came in during lunch time. he waited for about 10 minutes and he came to me and asked curtly and demandingly why we were taking so long. ok Mr Patient 2, it is LUNCH TIME. it is because we want to provide good service to our patients that's why we have this staggering lunch time system. actually, by RIGHT, the pharmacy is closed during lunch time. but by left, we didn't. so it is understandable that we would be slower than normal cos of the shortage of manpower (colleagues were having lunch then). we are already doing a big service by opening our Pharmacy though it is lunch time, Mr Patient 2. and what's more, he waited for ONLY 10 minutes. during clinic peak hours, patients have to wait for 1hour 30minutes ok?!?!?!?!
and for the ultimate, Mr Patient 3. it is standard protocol to ask for the patient's name when they come in to verify that it is indeed that patient and that he is not holding on to the wrong Service Chit if not we would dispense the wrong medication to him. so i asked Mr. Patient 3 what his name was. he answered a rude "WHY?!". i explained to him that it is standard protocol. just like when you answer the phone, you would start off with a "hello". then, even AFTER explanation, Mr. Patient 3 answered "ONLY STUPID PEOPLE ASK THIS QUESTION" and walked away without taking his Q number. LIKE WHAT THE #%&@^?!?!?!?!?! you think you very big arh? i tell you, if i wasn't putting on the "National Healthcare Group Polyclinic - Trainee" badge, i would have walked up to Mr. Patient 3 and give him a piece of my mind. so rude~!!!!
oh well. *breathes in and out*
i'm done complaining. haha.

tomorrow is street E. oh man~!!!! so exciting~!!! haha. though i am unable to go, cos i am unable to take leave, i will still pray that God will be in the center of everything and that everything will go on smoothly! haha. not so sad anymore =) 0o0o0oh~!!!
and i am able to internet sms at work~!!!! WAHAHA~!!! provided no one is looking la. must do it discreetly~!!! heh... so happy. but i cant check my phone for replies la. lolx. so it's kinda like a one-sided conversation.
saturday is Hari Raya. zhiwei asked me to take leave so that can go wilson's house to stayover. but the thing is, if i take leave.... for what?!?! i'm not going to celebrate what. keke. but anyway, i'm quite sad that the PH has to be on a Saturday. it should have been on a weekday! like that more hua for me. although i earn less, but i don't really mind to have a day of rest, know? sigh.... what to do?
my sister asked me some chem questions and i replied her just like THAT without really thinking la! after explaining it to her, i felt like a genius! well, actually, i AM one~!!! wahaha~!!!
oh man!!! it's 300 more days to my 20th birthday!!! 300 more days to me saying byebye to teenage-hood eternally... 300... 300... 300... the movie is nice.

oh yea babay!!!! i'm back online after one week cos of work. haha. work is okay la. i mean after 1 week, i am beginning to get the hang of things. beginning to mix around better. beginning to do my job well (ie. be more independent).... it's tiring, yes. but i find it rewarding. haha. i got to meet all sorts of people. from nice aunties who call me “可爱", to aunties who complain to me about the waiting time but admitted that it wasn't my fault, to people who come in with one HUGE bag of excess medication and expecting us to help them to count and minus it off their present medication stock, to people who are a little wrong upstairs (this guy told the whole world that i am his friend when it was the FIRST time i saw him), to people who come in to buy loads of medicine within one week, to nguan kiang and pamela (YES! they came to see the doctor), to people who shouted at me though it isn't my fault (this happened countless times), to over-inquisitive people who wanted to ask EVERYTHING under the sun about their medication (from what the doc gave, to how many months supply, to the dosage, to the colour of the pill, to the price, to the waiting time, to where marsiling CC will be.... p.s. information on the dosage and when to consume the pill will be provided when they collect their medication, NOT over at the queue counter. they will know the price while paying la!)..... so many different cases. haha.
it is quite fun... yet tiring. not so much politics as in the corporate world. but still, my colleagues are harsh on me. cos there is another temp there. and when she first came, my colleagues were very nice to her. they condoned her mistakes and all. and so she kept making those mistakes. my colleagues learnt their lesson the hard way. so, when dealing with another temp this time round, they were harsher on me la. i'm ok with it. cos i think i will really learn.
to my dearest yeewen, be prepared to work 5.5day weeks hor. and even if on paper, it states that your working hours are from 8-4.30, please be prepared to work OT til about 6. on saturdays, half day is just to 讲好听 only. they will work til about 3pm instead of the stated 1230pm. and be prepared to be interrupted at work cos there will be people coming over to buy over-the-counter medicine where only the pharmacist is able to dispense. my small boss (there are 3 pharmacists over at where i work. my small boss is the lowest ranking pharmacist la. haha) keeps complaining to me that she has a LOT of work to do and she keeps getting interrupted by these patients such that she cant complete her work on hand in time. haha. oh yes! be prepared to read a lot of files. haha. for me, i'm only qualified to do queue and packing of medicine. no picking (or dispensing). and i already have 3 files to read, can? *faintS* oh yes! must wear heels. haha. even if a bit only, it is still heels.
although the pay is lower than what i got last time, i'm still quite ok with it la. haha. it's really fun! and i am enjoying myself. but really, it is draining. so must sleep early lor. really must 养足精神. yea~!!! haha...

ok. so, moving on the cell... (moving on... WAHAHAHAHAH) andors' chicken pox is really getting better =D his face doesn't have any scares at all!!! YEA~!!! im happy for him. so he is still handsome. wahaha... i really love andros. don't know why this week really talk to him a lot. haha. just keep laughing and talking rot with him. heh. he even waited for the bus with me at the bus stop near his house. heh. so cute. finally. i've not been talking much to him for a few months le. i also don't know why. so i'm glad i was able to talk so much to him yesterday. heh. and he kept asking me to scold boon ping cos he claimed boon ping bullied him. i think it should be the other way round lor. haha.
and cell group was really.... COOL~!!! the ice breakers was.... WOW~!!! it is really my game man. haha. i lost to luwei on the first try, but beat him after that. WAHAHA~!!! o0ps... paiseh le, xiao di. then, the last question, the finale, the 100-point question.... i got it correct~!!!!! WAHAHA... and so i helped my group win~!!! and i was crowned the Queen of Lameness. WAHAHA~!!!! it's really my game la. undisputed. daryl and shu and joey kept asking me how i did it. seriously, i don't know. i really don't. it just came naturally. i think my brain is wired like that la. erm... i have a flair for it??? haha... God's gift for me so i can lame the people around me. share fun, joy, and happiness to all~!!! so altruistic. lolx.
so other random stuff... a flying cockroach flew into my house and freaked my whole family out. as if a cockroach wasn't enough, it was a FLYING cockroach at that. walao.... my mum was overseas. she is the only one in our family who isn't afraid of cockroaches. so when mum is not around, it was dad to the rescue. and the cockroach became like this:
my cousin is getting married on 27th Oct this year. 10 days after my parents' wedding anniversary. haha. P.S. my cousin's the guy. when oh when will it be my turn? sigh...
