    ** tanya chua **

    thank you jas and fungi! that was really encouraging. haha

    tomorrow's a monday. this is crap. another crappy day. i shall have to bear with it.

    oh no! it's gonna be 11pm soon! my sleeping time is drawing near! so i shall make this quick.

    last sunday, i went to my mei mei's Chinese Orchestra concert together with my parents. my dear lamer friends, serkun and wilson came along too.

    from left: serkun, ME, ah mei and her flower, wilson. the flower was a gift from serkun and wilson. i told them not to buy anything for my ah mei but they still bought it in the end. so nice of them. my mum was like... "aiyoh... so paiseh, go treat them to something". haha. so yes, serkun and wilson, i owe you guys a treat. heh. the flower was a good tool to attract my mei's attention. before the concert, i waved the flower frantically in the air. my wols mei saw the flower, but could not recognise that it was me. and it was because of this flower that serkun, wilson and i cracked many super duper lame jokes.

    we cracked so many lame jokes that i could not remember them now. but i know i laughed until i cried. oh! one joke was....

    all: "encore! encore!"

    wilson: "amy khor! amy khor!" (she was the Guest-of-Honour that night)

    don't you think they look alike? like peas in a pod. haha.

    and poor tanya. sorry. inside joke.

    ** i love bargains! **

    I went to the IT show yesterday at Suntec. GOODNESS~!!! IT WAS MADNESS~!!!

    There were so so many people can? I am so glad that my sister didn’t go. I went with my dad and mum. I got stepped on my big toe so many times. Thank goodness I wore my THAT pair of slippers – the one that covers my big toe. Those who criticized it, HA! It served it’s purpose – to prevent me from getting hurt! I’m so proud of it! Wahaha….

    I got pushed, jostled, squeezed… sigh. And my mum kept getting lost. It was to the extent that my dad complained to me, “Mama too short la~!!” haha. Ok, I know it is mean. But it is the truth! Amidst the crowd, I cannot find her at all. We got to make several phone calls before we could locate each other. Haha.

    And I finally bought my internal hard disk! Seagate. SATA. 200GB. I would like to thank BROTHER weijian la. I kept calling him until I think he got quite irritated with me. haha. And jack too! I must be extra nice to them this Saturday or else they will not lend me their OS, which means I will still NOT be able to use the com because the internal hard disk will be TOTALLY empty. Keke.

    Through this fair, I learnt a bit more about internal hard drives. Haha. I upgraded myself. I am no longer that goondo le. WAHAHA~!!! So proud of myself. Thanks to sean too! Who helped me here and there. It is good to have helpful guy friends who are IT savvy.

    And I bought a new camera too! Pink! Shocking pink! I was so shocked my dad asked me to buy that colour. They only had shocking pink, yellow and silver left. Black and blue were out of stock. Oh! Btw, it is Olympus Mju 850 SW. the one that can go underwater. The yellow’s gross! The silver’s normal. I wanted the black or blue de. But dad just asked me to get pink! Shocking, right? No wonder it is shocking pink! Lolx.
    I grabbed a good deal. $449 for the camera. Got freebies too! Like an extra battery, screen protector, dry bag, camera case, 2GB memory card and get this, 80GB external memory drive from Seagate! Yes! FREE! What’s more. Pay with UOB (or is it OUB) and get another free battery! Cool! So ya, I now have 3 batteries. Keke.

    My legs hurt after the IT show. And I was totally worn out. So were my parents. It’s not like we shopped a lot lehx. But don’t know why. We were so tired. Sigh…

    Oh yes! I am sick! Again. Yes. Sianx man. Sucky feeling.

    HURRY~!!!
    We need to really sit down and discuss about our future!
    Jetstar, to Taipei, during the start of july, costs $158. return.
    All prices exclusive of fuel surcharge and airport tax.

    The S-pop hun li has been eliminated! so sad. I kinda like that song. The yu san is in! sianx. It can get irritating at times. Hun li is more soothing =) somehow the yu san has some similarities when compared to Umbrella. ella.. ella.... eh-eh... under my umbrella... STOP IT~!!! SO IRRITATING~!!!

    Jiayoule!

    >>> fungi: i think it is a good joke lehx! made me feel like an idiot. haha. i told it to my mum and sister too! it's a good topic! lolx.
    >>> zhiwei: aiyah, just admit it la. i know you missed my nonsense! wahaha~!!! it's just so lovable. lovable nonsense!
    >>> wilson: wahaha. sorry la. i din mean to say that your handicraft's lousy. keke. it's just, not THAT good la! aiyah... think i should just shut up. haha. like yue miao yue hei. haha
    >>> luwei: you nothing to do can come find me for lunch de! just drop me an sms the day before can le! wahaha! you are always welcomed! haha. i used the bag you gave me! really! i brought it to the IT show! cos it's big enough to dump my hard disk as well as all the brouchers! keke. thanks, once again! =)

    ** Purpose, Position, Power **

    三八妇女节快乐~!!!

    i am back from a saturday's activities!

    work was alright. thanks to peijun's prayers. and glory to God for answering them. she prayed that jas and my workloads will be less so that when we come to church we would not feel that tired! haha. amazing! God actually answered that and on top of it, jas and i could leave work on time and reach church early! wahaha... God is so good, because He so loves us.

    i reached church in time for ice breakers!!! it's like so super cool can? i think i've not played in an ice breaker in months. must treasure ice breakers. must think of those (ie. ME!!!) who cannot play. oh! i was in time for forfeit too. diaox.

    i bought a packet of sweets from the pharm for cell. and in a twinkling of an eye, everything disappeared. haha. their hands came like piranhas. lolx.

    i would like to thank those who prayed for me la. cell and KOR KOR~!!!! kor kor is so nice. even sms-ed me to ask if i'm fine. even a one liner makes a lot of difference. it shows that he cared. hmm.. that's why i really want a kor kor. haha. and that is why i want my girls to have a kor kor, hence my preference of having a boy as my first-born. sigh... too bad i'm the eldest in the family. but never mind! i have a fake kor kor, who is as nice as a real kor kor! yea~!!! zhonghua's the name!

    thank huishan for her ponstan too! it's so funny. i actually ate the medicine that i frequently pick in the clinic! keke. the dentists love to prescribe that.

    and glory to God for healing me!

    and... i FINALLY MET LAMERZ~!!!! not the whole gang. but at least, i met some! fungi, serkun, zhiwei~!!!! haha. so happy. it has been TWO agonising months. FINALLY~!!! they were quite mean la. say meet me once a year can already because i kept doing nonsense. lolx. but really very happy to meet them! zhen de!!! i watched the last 15minutes of My Girl! i managed to catch the part where Gong Can expressed his love for Youlin! WAHAHA~!!! YEA~!!! you qing ren must zhong chen zhuan shu.

    went home with serkun and we talked. friends will always be friends. the feeling will never change. serkun and i have not met for like 2 months already. however on the bus trip home, we were still talking stuff. sharing stuff. and i'm glad that God put him into my life... so that he can accompany me home on bus rides after lamerz gatherings. keke... yalor! serkun! it will all yu guo tian qing de =D

    thank LUWEI XIAO DI for not forgetting me during his trip to Australia. he bought me this bag which i think is quite cool! haha.

    thank my black friend, WILSON (1o sec of fame), for not forgetting me on his army trip to Thailand. he bought me the name tag thingy. my name's in pink! haha.

    oh oh! wilson! fungi and serkun ganged up to bluff me lor! they said that you made it for us in thailand. like when you've got nothing to do you would take the tags out and sew our name on it. i was quite touched. then i made the statement, "eh, wilson's handicraft isn't that good lehx. he couldn't have made it himself what..." it was then that i realised that it was not handmade by you. keke. but anyway, THANK YOU~!!!!

    jiayoule at work jas! some patients just left their manners at home la. they STM too. forgot to bring it out. keke.

    huishan and i will watch 10,ooo BC soon! soon! soon!

    meet the spartans is a waste of money. it is so extremely dumb. you'll really lower your IQ level by watching it =P

    ** the "damn" patient **

    Work this week has been ok so far. There were a few weird patients… but overall, it was a relaxing week.

    Tuesday really was terrible. I had this male patient who limped up to me and passed me his service chit. (gasp! MAs Selamat?!) I politely asked him for his name, for verification purposes. He shouted at me and DEMANDED why I wanted to know his name. He claimed that it was a “rude” gesture; and he kept hurling the word “damn” at me. like everything is damn-ed in his eyes. I was damn, his name was damn, the clinic was damn, the medication was damn, the air-con was damn. For goodness sake, he is a grown-up male in his 50s ok? And he is using the word like nobody else’s business.

    Complaints aside, being professional, I explained to him the reason I had to ask for his name [for verification purposes la~!!! DUH~!!! Cos there were times when patients actually took the wrong service chits. This is a serious mistake because if we did not verify, we would prepare and dispense the wrong medication to the wrong patient! The consequences would then be dire. For example, if the patient suffers from heart problems, and I give him common cold medications, the consequences would be dire if the patient suffers from heart attack and does not have the medication with him (ie. GTN). Get what I mean? ]

    Even after explanation, this patient continued to hurl that word at me. yes, I know words are cheap, and I love freebies. But this is one word that I don’t want it so often, ya? So, holding on to my composure, self-control and patience won. I told this patient off in a polite yet super duper firm tone that, if read in between the lines, would be, “YOU BETTER STOP THIS “DAMN” THING OR ELSE I WOULD SLAP YOU UP AND DOWN, LEFT AND RIGHT, UNTIL YOU WOULD REALISE THAT I AM NO PUSHOVER, YOU IDIOT~!!!”

    He went away, muttering beneath his breath.

    By this time, the whole clinic was staring at us. I don’t give a damn man… o0ps… I don’t really care. I am right. And I will stand for what is right. I went behind and started complaining. My colleagues had to cool me down because I was very agitated. I felt quite insulted, actually. My boss even came out and commended me! she told me that I did a good job. Although I was firm, I was polite at the same time. She told me she “admired” me. WAHAHA~!!! So I DO have an admirer~!!! Keke.

    Yup… my policeman (fyi, every clinic has a policeman from cisco) came in after the heated exchange and I complained to him. He stood at the dispensing counters and his aura spread. The policeman aura. The “damn” patient stopped “damning” and sat there, guai guai. Even when collecting his medication, when my colleague asked him for his name, he co-operated FULLY with us.

    Some patients are just so kiam pa. they do not understand that we are doing all these for their own safety. Sigh… hao xin mei hao bao. We are here to serve, not to be abused. ok, i think i sould like some Indonesian maid. keke.
    * * *

    In a separate incident, my colleague asked another patient for his IC no. and he flew into a rage. Even after my colleague explained the need for asking, he still scolded her back. She rolled her eyes. I was quite shocked. She’s the nice nice type. With no temper. Goodness. Guess even the nicest person would really buay tahan at times in this job.

    * * *

    Some patients are terrible! They burp / cough / sneeze / dig their noses RIGHT IN FRONT OF ME~!!!! *faints*

    * * *

    My blog counter reads 3019. and I have absolutely NO idea who my 3000th visitor is! Since that visitor didn’t leave his / her name, fungi and peijun shall be joint 3000th! Lolx.

    Shall blog again on Sunday. I have important things to do now!
    jiayoule!

    oh yeah~!!! lizzie, jol and i FINALLY met up last last friday. it's been AGES since we last met. haha. and i'm glad that the three of us finally found some time off our busy schedules for some catching up. ah ping's MIA-ing, as usual. and elea had to do her project. so attendance was 60%. haha. we went to AMK's NYNY for dinner. jol arrived late as she had work commitments. so while waiting for her, lizzie and i started camera whoring while eating the complimentary apple flavoured candy floss...

    jol arrived in a while and we ordered food! yum yum!

    lizzie and her alfredo penne with ribs. whoever told you that their ribs are good, slap them. they cannot tell such a lie.jo and her aglio olio. somehow i just like the spelling of this dish. looks so cute. keke. don't you think jo looks great with curled hair? i wanna curl too~!!! but not now. maybe on my birthday =)
    my alfredo penne with half a chicken.
    the chicken's nicely done. not too tough. however, the sauce is pathetic. it came in such a meagre portion. i'm sure they gave me more at the beginning. but majority evaporated while the waiter served the dish from the kitchen to our table.ok. the yummy! pose was merely for the camera.
    the three of us!
    the mocha (or is it cappuccino?) mushroom soup. not very nice either.
    the potato salad. this tasted alright. no comments.
    and, yes! this is the ULTIMATE photo of the day!
    fyi, the pepper and salt shakers lizzie was holding read, P and S respectively.
    put them together and it becomes, P.S. I love U.
    brokeback mountain II?
    jol's an amazing photographer =P
    more cam whoring!
    more apple flavoured candy floss!

    i had a great time with lizzie and jol! too bad elea and ah ping weren't there...
    next stop, $10 CLUB~!!!
    photos courtesy of lizzie~!

    and lizzie, this was the photo i tried MMS-ing you:
    the 2oo8 AJ Orientation 2 OGL tee. it's the same design as the ones we saw at Hub. just that this is orange and those were white.

    and to the rest who don't know, yalor. this is the OGL tee. not bad la, hor? and it's dry fit~!!! much better than the tribal funka. oh my goodness~!!! that shirt's UGLY~!!!!

    *covers face, feeling very ashamed*

    * * *

    it is a well-known fact that diamonds are women's best friends.

    i shall now show you guys a best friend that i hope to have...
    WA~!!!!!!

    nice hor? this is a 101.27-carat diamond! WA~!!!!! so nice. i'm in awe la~!!! if only i can have this on my wedding ring... WA~!!!! it will appear for auction at the Hong Kong's branch of Christie's auction house on 28 May this year. it is expected to fetch in a whooping US$ 6 million. WA~!!!!

    * * *

    Mr Chew, one of our pharmacists at Woodlands Polyclinic, will be retiring on 6th March. so, being the united Woo Pharm, we threw a farewell party for him. he is only 55 lehx. so cool, right? can retire at such a young age. i heard that he got his pension and CPF already. so he has enough to quit. his wife is still working though. his daughter is in J1 this year. so young. i hope to retire so young too! we were guessing he might go to work at Hougang as a Locum, cos Hougang is so close to his house. but i know the people over there would loath it a lot. the only person whom i'm sure will be overjoyed is Lily. haha. i know Margaret, Fanny, Tracy will be totally sian diao. haha...

    but anyway, i designed the envelope of Mr Chew's card! haha. so proud of myself. it turned out not bad =P and we bought him a watch from 25 hours. price after 15% discount was from $200-230. due to my serious bout of STM, i forgot the exact price. Mr Chew was happy =)

    Angie cried during the speeches given by Mr Chew and Miss Shanti (boss). so cute. i didn't know that she can cry so easily! haha. no wonder we can click! WAHAHA~!!!

    here's our group photo!

    WOO PHARM~!!!

    Pharmists: Miss Shanti (boss), in red. Mr Chew: man in blue. My fave pharmist, Ms Tan, beside Mr Chew.
    MIA: Kat Rabiah, Adeline, Kath, Li Hong.

    Ms Tan will be super poor thing. cos Mr Chew will be leaving on 6 Mar. Ms Shanti will be flying to Australia mid next week. that means Ms Tan will be the only pharmist in Woo! means her shift will be from 8am until 530pm (or until the last patient collects his/her medication, whichever is earlier). she will bao ka liao. poor Ms Tan.

    And Mr Muru (the other male), will be the sole thorn amongst the roses. poor thing. haha.

    This is Woodlands Pharmacy for you!

    * * *

    Go home early, people. Beware of Mas Selamat~!!!
