    ** i love crying **

i've not been online for ages. my blog is dying! haha. so here i am to revive it!

ok. i changed my hairstyle and colour by a bit. it's a bit to you guys la. but it is a LOT to me, considering my length last time. haha. but oh well, it will grow back soon! i just know i need to get rid of the ends of my hair because they are beyond repair. haha. no more rebonding for me in the near future! my hair needs a rest.

ok, enough of hair. i had my VERY FIRST steamboat of the year. was talking to peijun and most probably both of us will be having 2 steamboat meals with 2 different groups of people - cell and lamerz, all on chu3. oh CRAP! everything's lk so cramped together on chu3~!!! haha. but i like it. i love re nao de CNYs =) but this CNY i have 2 regrets... this shall be kept a secret... but ya... 2. nevermind ba. someday. another day.

some random things we did in church / at Mac's today....

a yummy concoction by a delicious cell group. everything's inside - that satay sauce thingy, prawn shells, vegetables, tofu, spoon, chopstick shield, green tea, soup base, iced peace tea.... *vomits*

daryl's new name... wang ao tu. don't ask me how we derived it. we were just laming about and this came out! lolx! IT RHYMES~!!! keke....

everyone was supposed to write a chinese character to come up with a story. look at what was written. it's ok if you get nothing.... cos... nothing makes sense. it is just a no link thing. lolx. it rhymes again~!!!! WAHAHA~!!!

can you figure out how to read this word? it is pronounced, zhong1. it is invented by our daryl ong chong wee... haha. i didn't know he could be this lame la~!!! he is catching up with me. i must sharpen my knife soon. WAHAHA~!!! anyway, i think this word looks cool. heh.

as usual, dear huishan wrote the top two words on the paper and made some designs. daryl then went dao fan the words and added a dot on da. and so, it became bian tai. haha..... this is so so lame. oh CRAP~!!!

i love marco. i really really do. he is just so lovable. haha. so ke ai. i just cannot help falling in love with him. keke. he keeps making me laugh. i think he will grow to be more gentlemanly as he matures. FINALLY, a gentlemanly guy in cell. not that the rest aren't la. some really aren't. some are a bit. but there is still room for improvement. haha. so guys, be more gentlemanly and you'll score points... like... help to clear the rubbish and junk. that isn't your mother's job. it is everyone's responsibility, yea? jia you le, marco! i have faith in you! don't let me down! study hard for N levels. if serene (wong) can do it, so can you! i must keep giving you that extra push! yea~!!!! peijun, no need to disciple me on this. i'm perfectly ok. i treat him like my little bro. in fact, i wish he is my son. soooooo cute.... *pinches cheeks* marco! marco!! marco!!!

and this is to ALL BPians from the 2oo4 batch.... YES~!!! THAT WOMAN you saw on tv during the release of the O level results was REALLY shi****n ong. i have to practise some self-censorship here to prevent a remake of the Friendster incident that happened in 2oo4. i went to ask kasiang about it cos his sis is still in BP. apparently, ong left in nov last year. the current principal is some mr lee from unknown.

oh yes.. i am going to change my player soon. but for now, please bear with the boyfriend thingy. maybe you can listen to tian tian quan? it's a nice song... wahaha.... yea baby~!!!

Chinatown tomorrow! peijun's parents are going. so is kasiang's family. haha. so fun~!!! 0o0o0h~!!!! =D

    ** welcome TWO taiwan **

i think the merlion photo is really ruining my reputation as a sane, composed, logical and analytical individual. it is defaming my name. smearing my reputation. leaving me with no choice but to dig a hole and bury my head in it. oh CRAP~!!! but nevermind, i shall sacrifice for the fun, joy and laughter of lamerz, and to others... sigh...

ok. so after that super hilarious post on Fungi's birthday, let me back track a bit to my Taiwan trip with my family... while over there, i've not forgotten about you guys, Lamerz, cell, church people... yup yup.... evidence? here it goes....
this photo is dedicated to my beloved Xiao di, Luwei Tan Xiao di cos he loves subway sooo much. it's no longer Subway, Eat Fresh! over in Taiwan. it's qian ting bao, sha la! haha. ok lame. but seriously! the FIRST thought that came into my mind was, XIAO DI~!!!!! when i saw that sign. heh. gan dong ma, xiao di?
and this photo is dedicated to guoshijun1988.spaces.live.com, Mr Quak Ser Kun. ok, i'm suddenly reminded of the super dumb and lame joke we cracked during fungi's birthday celebration - Mimi Quek Bee Bee. walao... dumb! but anyway, since dear serkun's a hakka, this is dedicated to him =) gan dong ma, serkun?
and to all church people, THIS is how the Dome of the Rock looks like. some background info: it is an islamic shrine and a major landmark located on the Temple Mount in Jerusalem. it was completed in 691 making it the oldest extant Islamic building in the world. please refer to the sermon notes dated 28 April 2007, title: The Signs of the End Times (III). recap, recap!

ok. so now, let's move on to some random pictures taken during the trip...
our hotel room consists only of ONE king size bed. so we smartly brought along the sleeping bag so that some one can sleep on the floor, as opposed to 4 people squeezing onto a bed. that "some one" is my mum. haha. ok... that's my sister in the picture.
we took their version of the MRT. instead of giving us cards, we were given these tokens as single-trip tickets. so cute, right? like some arcade token. and the amazing thing is, all you need to do is to tap these tokens and the gate will open. it's something like the Singapore style of the MRT gates, but this time, you use the tokens. and upon alighting, you slot these tokens into a hole at the barricades. so smart! it's more convenient than Singapore's single-tripez link cards, where we have to return the cards at the ticketing machine in order to get our $1 refund. Taiwan's system is more hassle-free! thumbs up!

this is the ticketing machine! it accepts cash more readily than Singapore's. and you can purchase more than one token at a time, a feature that my family appreciates. we need to buy 4 tickets at a go, you see. so it saves time! another thumbs up! i would like to add that the Taiwanese are generally very civic-minded. they have seats set aside for "people who need them more than you". and the Taiwanese really abide to that rule - they will really stand up if they see "people who need them more than you". also, they will usually not seat at those priority seats even though the train is relatively crowded. w0w~!!! on top of that, they will REALLY keep to the right of the escalator. the left is STRICTLY for climbing up / walking down. if you stand on the left, you'll get scolded. cool right? Singaporeans? sigh... although the right is the express lane, many still stand there, obstructing the flow of passengers. Civic-mindedness, Singaporeans, civic-mindedness~!!! there were also many empty spaces for wheelchair-bound passengers as compared to Singapore's. sigh... *shakes head* and did i mention that Taipei's MRT is voted the world's best for the 3rd (or 4th, i cant really remember) time running?! they beat places like London, paris, shanghai, and us~!!! sigh... i was really impressed with their train system.

me and my xiao long bao. i loooove xiao long bao-s. i can drool, just thinking about them. FYI, our xiao long bao-s gang is EXPANDING~!!! w0o ho0~!!! the current members include, shuen, huiyi, henson, marco, and me~!!! haha. we must have a tim sum outing someday. must invite tim sim along. maybe can have discount. WAHAHA~!!! anyway, this photo was taken at the main Ding Tai Feng branch in Taipei. so c0ol~!!! we didn't even know it was the main branch until later on during the trip. apparently, there were 6 levels. but we didn't know cos we only went to the second floor. their service was really good~!!! it was efficient and they were really always smiling. their questions were really questions. and they asked them really politely. unlike in Singapore where their questions seem like commands. sigh... Singapore better buck up!

we went to Xiao Ren Guo. here's me and the ships.

this is some building la. cannot really remember what. haha.

haha. ok. i was laming about. i am your superstar!

ok. i know this! this is the Forbidden City~!!! wahaha...

a random shot i took of my dad. don't you think it looks artistic? wahaha....

cos i can't help falling.... ok, was feeling a little bimbotic.

a self-portrait of myself on board the free shuttle bus from Taipei 1o1 to the nearest MRT station.

ha. a cool picture. the girl in green in the background is my beloved sister =)

another self-portrait of me on the plane back to Singapore.

i kinda like this photo although my eyes appear SUPER SMALL~!!! haha. that's dad in the background, sleeping.

i love this shot too~!!! Szern, the great photographer. haha. that sentence just reminds me of Kongsheng. lolx. but yea, i got my sis to pose for me for this shot. keke. emo mei. haha. nice, right?

    a few more random incidents:

    - there was NO muah chee... can you ever believe it?! no muah chee-s in all the night markets that i went to~!!! CRAP~!!!

    - we walked for about 5 MRT distances (think Admiralty to Choa Chu Kang, or Admiralty to AMK) from the Ding Tai Feng main branch to our hotel, which is near Taipei 1o1. from Ding Tai Feng, 1o1 looked so near. but when we walked... goodness~!!! we walked from tian liang dao tian hei. from daylight, to night fall, with all our barang barang-s. CRAP la~!!! once we reached the hotel, we were all quite seh... walking such a distance in that weather was ok. but cos we were carrying our purchases, we were all drained.

    - Ding Tai Feng Taipei NOT equals Ding Tai Feng Singapore.

    - i love the weather in Taipei when we went. about 15deg. quite cooling. but when the wind came, it was just another story.

    - i couldn't get much clothes cos they were selling winter wear. the baby clothes were soooo kawaii~!!! my ma kept saying that she wanted to buy them for her grandchildren. i kept thinking of buying one set just to keep at home cos it was soooo cute~!!! but, dad stopped us. men are usually the more composed and rational ones when it comes to shopping. heh.

    - pastor mentioned today that free and easy is much better than guided tours. i agree with him. free and easy allows more flexibility to plan my own itinerary. i can decide to spend more time on places that interest me and cut down time on boring places.

    - i love their night markets... just eat and walk and shop. eat and walk and shop. eat and walk and shop. man~!!! i simply LOVE it. heh. their food is nice~!!! their tako yaki arh... 3 boxes for NT$1oo (~SG$5). there were 6 inside each box. this works out to SG$0.278 per piece as compared to Singapore's $0.667 per piece. and it tasted much better over there. their desserts were also super nice, especially their red bean soup. *yum*yum* i love red bean~!!! hong dou, lv dou, dao dou, cha cha cha.... ok lame.

    - i love their milk tea with pearls. the nicest store is in Wu Fen Pu. their pearls are springy and chewy. i love their fried oyster. the nicest store is in Rao He Night Market. big oysters, crispy, large portion. i love their bitter gourd and honey juice. the nicest store is in Xi Men Ding. it's NOT gross! haha. yea~!!! *drools*

    - i was looking for a Jolin Welcome to Taiwan poster but could not find one. i wanted to take a photo of it. haha.

    - we were the LAST ONES to board the plane back to Singapore. my parents thought the flight was at 2.30pm. but it was 2.10pm~!!! so we were still dilly-dallying our way to the gate, thinking that we were still early. but it turned out otherwise. we were soooo late. we had to DASH to the plane. the ground crew and the plane crew were all waiting for us. oh man. sooo paiseh. really sooo paiseh... *covers face with hands* thank God as well. any later the plane would have flown off without us, and we might have to countdown at Taipei International Airport. haha.

so that's about it. for more photos, please click on the picture below. after being redirected, please click on the "Slideshow" button at the top left of the screen, just above the thumbnails of photos. please read the comments as well. happy watching! =)

    ** "I know you want a boyfriend..." **

dear readers, please view ALL the videos in this post. there are many, but they are worth watching. this i guarantee you.

** Disclaimer: The author of this post is not responsible for any damage caused to any part of the reader's body, be it physically or mentally, due to over excessive laughter. **

and so, Lamerz celebrated Fungi's birthday with a *BANG!* (literally) last Sunday. and mind you, it was seriously hilarious. i laughed until my tummy hurt. and i was left feeling so super tired and drained after all the laughing activity.

it all happened when serkun, geraldine, wilson, yeewen, zhiwei, peijun and i decided to surprise Fungi at her house. the birthday girl turned 2o, ya? and yes, it was a FULL Lamerz gathering, since half a year ago... WOW~!!!

here comes the FIRST, and MOST hilarious video... just a little background information, serkun, yeewen and i went over to the block opposite fungi's to spy. once fungi leaves her house, we will signal to the other team (comprising of gera, wilson, zhiwei and peijun) to get ready to kick her prezzie, red mushroom soft toy (get it? fungi, mushroom, fungi, mushroom, fungi, mo ku = BHG), out to attract her attention. BUT it failed miserably and geraldine had to do something out of desperation. also, please note fungi's nonchalance upon seeing her prezzie (AND HER FRIENDS~!!!).

did you see fungi's face / reaction? and did you see that throw from geraldine? it's a hot favourite to win the Golden Horse 2oo8 - Best Throw of the Year award ok?

the signallers' view of Fungi's main door.
fungi opening part 2 of her prezzie - a purple S&K cardigan.
    random picture.

newspaper fight! yes, they are 20-year olds...

    fungi's laughter~ ! upon seeing something special...

    so, what did fungi see?

(left) the birthday card we gave her last year. (right) the birthday card we gave her this year. we purposely used the same design, just that the rainbows slant in different directions. WAHAHA~!!! lame. if i'm not wrong, serkun wrote on blue once again while yeewen wrote on orange for the second year running. oh! that's my sexy thigh by the way. it isn't a finger. it IS my left thigh.

(left) the picture we drew on the back of her card last year. (right) the picture we drew on her card this year. the logic of this year's card? it all started with wilson using BLACK to draw four sticks on fungi's hair. yeewen merely added a few more strands.

spot the difference. noticed anything amiss? WAHAHA~!!!! yes, we put the "After" photo on fungi's card. it was hilarious~!!!! zhiwei's figure is so *ooh-la-la* it fits just right~!!! goodness... i laughed until i teared, as usual.

a nice group photo at Fungi's house. so rare that gera's there~!!! lolx. it rhymes! haha.

    thanks wilson.

haha. random and no link and so fake yet hilarious photo.

we used this 5566 poster as a wrapping paper for fungi's mushroom = mo ku = BHG. it just suits this year's birthday theme for fungi so well - boyfriend. WAHAHA~!!! "i know you want a boyfriend..."

Lamerz having a Chinese meal together for the very first time~!!! look at gera. what is she wearing?!?! and just nice, it's a wedding lunner / dinch for the Newbies - fungi and zhiwei. since lamerz wrote on zhiwei's birthday card that he should get a girlfriend soon, and on fungi's that she should get a boyfriend soon, why not they just grab each other? it's so easy. no need to search high and low. WAHAHA~!!! and so, all along, serkun and peijun were just dang jian pai-s / distractions. sigh....

    spasms?

i like zhiwei's birthday card. the theme's mahjong. it's really nice. xin ku le, serkun~!!! zhiwei, MUST thank serkun lehx. a LOT of effort de lor....

    *yum*yum*

zhiwei and wilson look so tensed / spastic / having cramps. thank goodness i looked normal.

so that was it. Lamerz celebrating fungi's 20th birthday. haha. it was a fun-filled day, although i was very chui towards the end. like totally no energy. Lamerz... YEA~!!!! =D

** What Does New Year Mean to Me? **

    It means a new beginning...

A new beginning to build on existing relationships with people and with God.

i shall not divulge too much on what i wrote on that slip of paper. but it was along these lines. btw, i did not shred my paper cos the shredder was jammed. sis wp just took the slip of paper and threw it into the bin. well, there were some really really PnC stuff that is only between me and God. but... oh well.

2oo8 WILL BE a good year for Nissi - Peijun.

i could feel it the instant i rushed up to the front to welcome the newcomers. then in cell group, people talked more. people like Marco. the new guy, Victor, was nice to talk to too. Amrish stayed for dinner even though Bel wasn't around (you know, usually if your friend who brings you to some place leaves, you'll naturally leave with him/her, right? but this didn't happen. guys~!!! tighter followups! girls, PRAY~!!!!). Marco prayed for Daryl (lk w0w~!!!!) cell hitting 2o for the FIRST time in history. i still remember its humble beginnings, where there were only 4 girls, then down to 3... i feel so proud to be as old as the cell, in terms of church years. Huishan, Jaslyn, Shuen and i talked more nonsense. really shared to each other about stuff... ok la. shuen shared stuff about me to them... bleah. really. the atmosphere is different. i just cannot really pinpoint which part... but this IS the year for Nissi - Peijun.

Have a heart of expectancy, guys (and girls). He will fill your empty box. just exactly how big is your box? that's the size God wants to fill. Expect~!!!!

Oh man. 2oo8 is such a good year. it kicked off to a good start with me celebrating with Lamerz amidst nice fireworks. work was fine so far. in fact i think my skills have improved! i pick and pack medications faster than before! and i am less prone to injuries although i still sustain them. haha. and it WILL be a good year for Nissi - Peijun as well *smiles*

let love cover. tim sim reminded me this again today. how powerful a phrase. i let love cover today in church. i shall not mention anything. but i corrected someone out of love. yup. i know i did the right thing. oh my.... i'm just so excited about the things God has installed for cell. this is so .... 0o0o00hh~!!!! i just cannot contain my excitement! heh.

before the sermon, to me, 2oo8 is just another year. you know? like i have to write the year as o8 and NOT o7 anymore. i am constantly reminded that i will be TWENTY soon, leaving my teenage years behind me. that it is just the start of another academic year for school going kids.... not anymore. sermon brought about a new meaning to the new year.... i thank God for 2oo7 and the events that have taken place. they have moulded me to be a woman more of character, a woman after God's heart. (i used the word "woman" cos i'm hitting the big TWO soon). happy stuff that i laughed over, unhappy stuff that made me sustain swollen eyes... things that happened the way i wanted it to, things that did not turn out the way i expected it to. the quarrels, the patches, the talks, the laughter, the tears, the smiles... everything. i thank God for them.

my spiritual growth? to be honest, i did not think about this aspect until i read the note peijun gave me for my Xmas prezzie (cell de). i re-read the sentence and started to evaluate my spiritual growth. i have to agree with her that i really grew this year. and a lot. mission trip was the turning point, i suppose. i really learnt a lot, took home a lot of valuable lessons. i mature. i learnt to serve gladly. i learnt that God's ways are higher than mine (Rom 8:28 tide me through the times that were trying). i learnt to let love cover. i learnt that relationships with people matter so much to me. that's why this year, i'm going to make it a point to treasure my loved ones more. i am prepared to be interrupted. i want to do things that are of eternal value.

in 2oo7, i kept asking myself, what if _______ died. how would life be like? faces splashed across my mind and i started crying. serious. no joke. i don't want what i imagined to be a reality. so... yea.... relationships. treasure them.

i did not go to church for 2 weeks, so it felt really great to be praising and worshipping God once again in His house, in His presence. never take coming to church lightly.

someone told me this: God gave us a chance to choose whether to love Him; but He did not give Himself a chance to choose whether to love us. powerful!

Thank you for the cross, my Friend.
Once again I thank You, once again I pour out my life.

Lord, I'm amazed by the love that You gave
On the mount of crucifixion You laid Your life down for me
The mercy You have given me
    Is more than I need
I am saved only by Your grace
Thank You for the cross, my Saviour
Lead me to that place of communion
Nothing in my hands I bring
Simply to the cross i cling
For all that You have done for me
This love song I will sing
Only You can fill the vacuum in my heart
Only You can love me like no one else
    I will run to You
    I will run to You

i kept singing this song the past few days. just as when i'm feeling lonely, feeling that something is amiss, feeling that no one cares, i know that my God will always be there the fill that void, that vacuum in my heart.

random: Cheryl, Shuen and i are the toilet sisters. for 1, 3 of us met outside the toilet cos we were all sooo urgent. for 2, all of us had the same shade of blue on us (Shu and i - shirt; Cheryl - ear rings). for 3, all of us had the same shade of white on us (ok, not funny. white has only one shade). WAHAHA.... random super mini toilet gatherings are so fun.

random: everyone cut their hair! weijian, henry?, marco, henson, xunxiang, zixin, joshua... i cannot remember. i know there were a lot more. and peifen aka winnie-the-sister re-rebonded her hair.

    ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

and as we usher in the new year, things will change. but some things will just remain constant, like zhiwei's smile. it's been like that since who knows when... haha.

new year, new hopes, new beginning. let bygones be bygones. embrace each new day. treasure the people around you more. smile more. shine your light and let the whole world see. let us stand in the gap!

just wanna say thank you to zhiwei for helping the rest of us open road. thanks to yeewen for grabbing me past many many people in a desperate attempt not to lose me in the multitudes. thanks to serkun for being the last man. thanks to wilson for blocking the crowd from pushing us further in the train. thanks to fungi for this....

    HAVE A BLESSED 2OO8~!!!
