** Hi Seoul 2oo8 - Part II **
mei mei and i. we don't look alike. seriously. but we behave the same way! haha. we have chemistry. we speak the same and think the same. lolx. my mei mei.
the train tickets.
taking the train is an uphill task. first, you have to CLIMB down a flight of steps. then...
you have to climb down another flight of stairs.
haha! =D
at the airport. 3 trolleys. me, mum, dad.
our flight got delayed. so what to do? CAM-LOVE~!!! =D
Yakult in Korea!
told you my mei's a glutton =P the spicy rice cake is delicious~!!!! yummy yum yummmm~!!!! =D

** Hi Seoul 2oo8 - Part I **
the hotel i stayed in. Hamilton Hotel.
brunch on Day 2! KFC. well, it tastes almost the same in Singapore. nothing spectacular. but i was impressed with the wet napkin dispenser they placed just beside the counter. you can take the FOC anti-bacteria napkins to clean your hands before your meal! also, it's the Korean culture to clear their trays after their meal. after clearing, they would use the wet napkins to clean their trays as well! oh! they would also empty their unwanted drinks (and ice) into a separate area before disposing of the cups! so friendly! and to think that Singaporeans are complaining about having to clear their own trays over at Zion Road. sigh... it's the culture.
Namdaemun Market! it has officially replaced all of Taiwan's night markets as my favourite place for shopping in the whole wide world~!!! argh~!!! i want to go again during Summer. i promise you i'll buy the whole market!
this is something special. know the pancakes sold at mr bean? instead of having peanut, kaya, blueberry, red bean etc as the filling, it's egg in the middle! it's called Gyeran-ppang. yummm.... thank God for NO bird flu in Korea!along one SMALL street within Namdaemun.
dinner at Myeong-dong! Ginseng chicken and kimchi!!! =D i tasted the shoju. goodness! it's powerful. when sze says it's powerful... it really is powerful.
ya.
our breakfast (Day 3) at Paris Baguette. yum yum yum~!!! delicious! anytime better than Delifrance, Breadtalk, Four Leaves, Prima Deli, Swee Heng... whatever.
the toilet at Doosan Tower in Dongdaemun. please don't visit the Tower. i'd rather you go Namdaemun. they sell the same things for a MUCH cheaper price. like say... 3 times cheaper at Namdaemun? anyway, i like the toilet. look at the wallpaper!
lunch! yum yum yum~!!! the spicy chicken soup was soooo gooood~!!!! we ate until we liu bi shui. spicy and yummy! and the pig trotters were delicious! not much fat. unhealthy yes. but after all the walking and exercising... we could afford to eat! heh. giving all sorts of excuses =P
you are supposed to wrap the pig trotters in the lettuce and place the whole thing into your mouth and eat it in one bite! AHM!
dinner! disappointing. the Ginseng chicken was vacuum-packed chicken. not fresh. and the bulgogi (BBQ-ed beef) was so tendon-ry. bleah! but the pumpkin cake was intricately prepared! =)
oh gosh! my dear cell group mate actually opened a restaurant all the way in Seoul?!
Christmas cakes on sale at Paris Baguette! so cute right? sigh... they had so many pre-orders~!!! it's crazy!
my mei caught the cam-loving craze and we cam-loved together.
and my family celebrated Christmas with a prayer and a cake =) it has been YEARS since we prayed together as a family! i am hoping for more of such opportunities =) anyway, the cake is DELICIOUS~!!! the sponge was spongy and the chocolate was not too sweet! and oh! the angels and the house were actually candles! and they provided matchsticks too! don't you think it is an ingenious idea? we need not worry about having to find a lighter / matchsticks to light the candles! Singapore needs this! especially during cell group mates' birthdays! heh.
look at all the cute cute cakes sold at Paris Baguette! why oh why doesn't Singapore have Paris Baguette? the price is reasonable too! from $13 to about $22. even cheaper than some of Swee Heng's cakes.... you know... Swee Heng lehx... ARGH~!!!
